About the Artist
Salisbury artist Curtis Waller was born and raised in Rowan County, NC. His interest in art began as a child when his mother encouraged him to sketch the barns and buildings around their home. A self- taught talent, Curtis's paintings bring to life such detailed displays of aging farms, abandoned buildings, and scenes of nature, that their simplistic beauty is often mistaken for a photograph. Curtis's meticulous attention to detail, which makes his style so unique, has in fact become his trademark.

Curtis married Salisbury native Jean Cauble in 1963, and they have two daughters. Curtis painted in his spare time while supporting his family for over 30 years as an auto body repairman. With the encouragement of family and friends, Curtis officially opened his studio gallery in December 1994 with the release of his first limited edition reproduction, "December Snow". By 1999, he had officially become an International Artist with his work owned by collectors on three continents.
Curtis has now reproduced twenty three of his original works of art.

Curtis has also put his paintings to work for the community by offering Charity Proofs from many of his limited editions. Charity Proofs are designated to be given at no charge to charitable groups to aid in fund raising efforts. Rowan Helping Ministries also chose Curtis to paint their 1998 Christmas card for which he painted "Grandkids' Gifts."

Waller's Gallery & Picture Framing specializes in Curtis' original works and limited edition reproductions and offers an on-site frame shop for convenient framing of his works and items brought in by clients.
